Radboud Scholarship Programme

Radboud Scholarship Programme

Level and duration of the scholarship:

  • The scholarship will only be awarded for the first year of your Bachelor's programme. The scholarship is not an amount of money that you will receive in your bank account, but consists of a partial tuition waiver. The tuition fee of the first year will be waived to the level of an EU/EEA student. For example: a grant holder in 2016/2017 will pay a tuition fee of only 1,984 Euros, instead of 6,817 Euros. This means you will have to pay the full amount of the tuition fee for the second and third year of your Bachelor's programme. In addition, the Radboud Scholarship also covers costs for health and liability insurance for one year and costs for visa and residence permit. The latter will be valid for all three years of your Bachelor's programme.

Selection criteria:
The selection process will take place at the faculty. From the eligible candidates the Radboud Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • the student's talent and qualifications
  • the student shows promise and motivation

Application procedure and documents required:

  • You need to submit a request for enrolment in the Bachelor's programme of your choice on Studielink.nl. Check on the Bachelor's programme website (see links on this page) what the other instructions and requirements are. From Studielink you will be directed to another system called OSIRIS Application. There you can indicate that you wish to apply for a Radboud Scholarship. You will then be requested to upload two additional documents: 1. a motivation letter and 2. a curriculum vitae, both in English.

  • The letter of motivation is a personal statement, in which you introduce yourself, explaining why you would like to study the particular Bachelor’s programme at Radboud University, and why you think you are suited for it. This letter of motivation should not exceed two pages of A4-paper.
  • The curriculum vitae is a brief outline indicating your previous education, achievements and performances, your work / life experience and hobbies.

Eligibility:

You will only be eligible to obtain a Radboud Scholarship if you:

  • hold a non-EU/EEA passport
  • are not eligible for the lower EU/EEA tuition fee for other reasons
  • did not receive previous education in the Netherlands (i.e. not HAVO, VWO, HBO, WO or other Dutch diploma, except an International/European Baccalaureate and an American/British High School diploma)
