  • The doctorate in psychology aims to obtain a doctorate from an undergraduate degree in an integrated and continuous process of research, academic training and intervention activities. The program has three profiles.

    The research profile is intended for students who wish to pursue a career in research or who want to study a problem related to another profession (for example, teaching). The Professional Profile, which leads to professional accreditation, offers training focused on the dimensions of psychological assessment and intervention. The scientific-professional profile, which also leads to professional accreditation, is intended for students who wish to pursue a career in applied research or intervention and who want to combine the acquisition of research skills with those of intervention.

    The concentration in cognitive sciences is offered to students of research and scientific-professional profiles. The program also includes a concentration in Feminist Studies offered in all three profiles.
  • Goals

  • This program aims to obtain a doctorate from an undergraduate degree in an integrated and continuous process of research, academic training and intervention activities. The program has three profiles and a concentration that allow students to specialize.

    Research profile (Ph.D.): This profile is intended for students who wish to pursue a career in research or who want to study an advanced problem related to another profession (for example teaching). It provides the methodological and theoretical bases necessary to plan and undertake an approach which is at the cutting edge of research in the field of specialization chosen by the student.

    Professional profile (Psy.D.):This profile offers the student a professional training focused on the two dimensions of psychological assessment and intervention. It allows for the deepening of theoretical and practical knowledge in one of the fields of specialization offered to the department. This profile leads to professional accreditation.

    Scientific-professional profile (combined Psy.D./Ph.D. Profile):This profile is intended for students who wish to pursue a career in applied research or intervention and who want to combine the acquisition of research skills with those of intervention. It provides the methodological and theoretical bases necessary to plan and undertake an advanced research process and at the same time provides the conceptual bases and the practical framework necessary for psychological intervention. The research and intervention approaches must be seen as complementary activities that will allow an interaction between the experimental rigor associated with the empirical approach and the conceptual and human skills necessary for professional practice. Consequently, in order to meet the dual requirements of this program, the student enrolled in program 3291 is automatically enrolled in 8588 "clinical section of the doctorate in psychology", this program covers the two internships that the student must complete during his training. This profile leads to professional accreditation.

    The concentration in cognitive sciences is offered to students of the research (3091) and scientific-professional (3291) profiles. This concentration allows

  • acquire in-depth knowledge of the theories, concepts and methods of cognitive science;
  • to train researchers capable of contributing in an original and creative way to the advancement of current research in cognitive science.
  • The program also includes a concentration in Feminist Studies. This concentration, offered in the three profiles, allows:
