  • Do Strategize

Just like any other exam, the core of effective preparation of TOEFL consists of a good strategy. Your initial focus should be on getting familiarise with the breakdown of the TOEFL exam: how reading, writing, listening, and speaking are connected, the question types, how much time is allotted for each section etc. After you have a grasp on the basics, start working on making effective test-taking strategies. Focus on ways to take better notes while listening, how to scan passages for keywords and ways to save time and maintain proper spacing. The don’ts before and on the TOEFL test day

  • Don’t use fancy words or difficult grammar

It is important for candidates to improve their grammar and vocabulary for the TOEFL exam. But many test-takers use unknown words or complex grammar structures during the test which does not make any sense. The examiners assess a candidate’s clarity of thought and ability to communicate clearly and fluently. So, use words and grammar you are familiar with. You should be able to express your thoughts and ideas very naturally the same as a native speaker can. Instead of using fancy words and grammar, spend time in structuring your content. You should avoid doing these mistakes: Common mistakes made by TOEFL test takers

  • Don’t lose motivation during the test

If you have made any mistake in one section, do not lose hope. Start the next section with enthusiasm. Be aware of the mistakes you have made in the previous section and do not repeat them in further sections. Follow these tips during your test: TOEFL Exam Day Tips

  • Don’t be late on On Test Day

Don’t be late for your TOEFL exam. Know the exact time, date, and day of your test. Find the address of your testing centre and plan your route so you know what time to leave in order to get there on time. Arrive at your testing centre for at least half an hour before the test. This would give you enough time to familiarise yourself with your test room and seat. If you get lost on the day of your exam or arriving late for your test may make you feel nervous, anxious, and stressed, which can negatively affect you during the test.

  • Don’t hesitate to speak

Try not to hesitate while speaking. It is hard to speak in front of experts, but you have to practice speaking in a continuous flow. If you become blank during speaking, take a pause of a few seconds and then resume speaking.

We hope this helps you out. TOEFL Preparation should not be stressful, but it should be comprehensive along with being deliberate. Keep all the points of DO’S and DON’TS in your mind and crack the TOEFL exam well so that you can achieve admission in the international institutions.

All the best!!!!
