Academic counselling and mentoring

The Student Advisor and the Mentors are responsible for providing first-year students with academic counselling and support. The Student Advisor is your source for help and assistance during your studies. Additionally, you will be assigned two personal mentors (one of the lecturers and a second-year student), to whom you can turn to discuss your study progress. You will meet your personal mentor in one-on-one meetings and in group meetings together with other first-year students. During a mentor meeting, you will discuss issues like the difference between secondary school and university, the curriculum, your initial experiences at university, how to prepare for exams and deal with stress, culture shock and homesickness. Other issues may include study planning, student life, workload, side jobs and career perspectives.
